Themed "All Imaginable Ways of Dialogue," the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to China opened European Culture Street 2025, offering residents and visitors in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan Province a unique opportunity to experience the EU's cultural diversity on April 12. The activity was launched in collaboration with the diplomatic missions of EU member states in Beijing, Chengdu, and Chongqing.
As the guest of honor at the Chengdu-European Culture Season 2025, the EU has partnered with Chengdu municipal authorities to co-launch this annual festival in tandem with the opening of the European Culture Street.
In 2025, the EU and China will observe 50 years of diplomatic relations. The European Culture Street offers an opportunity to foster cultural exchanges and mutual understanding.
At the opening ceremony, Ambassador of the European Union to China Jorge Toledo emphasized the importance of fostering dialogue between the peoples of the EU and China, especially on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of EU-China relations this year. "Discovering each other's culture helps bring us closer. Cultural and people-to-people exchanges can contribute to the foundation of trust and understanding that will guide us in improving our bilateral relations, honoring commitments, addressing global challenges, and seizing new opportunities," he said.
