Ambassador of France to China Bertrand Lortholary and his delegation visited the Three-River-Source National Park in Northwest China's Qinghai Province on April 20. The tour aimed to further strengthen exchange and cooperation on national parks between China and France. The delegation focused on learning wildlife protection measures, ecological restoration, and management results. The Team of China National Parks accompanied the delegation throughout the trip.
The three-river source region, or the Sanjiangyuan region supplies nearly 60 billion cubic meters of high-quality fresh water to China and five other countries, namely Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam every year, and is known as the China's "water tower."
The delegation learned about the achievements and experience of the national park, especially in innovating the ecological protection management system and establishing a long-term funding guarantee mechanism. They also conducted on-site investigations into the ecological protection and wildlife protection work at the source of the Yellow River.
