China’s Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Vershinin Sergey Vasilievich held a China-Russia counter-terrorism and security consultation at vice-foreign ministerial level in Moscow at the invitation of the latter, on April 26. Both sides agreed that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China and Russia’s strategic cooperation and practical collaboration in the field of counter-terrorism security have continued to deepen, effectively safeguarding the security interests of both sides and contributing to international and regional security stability, according to China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.
The two sides engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on the international and regional counter-terrorism situation and other issues of mutual concern, and expressed their commitment to continue adhering to the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries as the fundamental guideline, to further strengthen bilateral and multilateral counter-terrorism cooperation, jointly address international and regional terrorist threats, maintain peace and tranquility in China, Russia, and surrounding regions, and inject more stability and certainty into a turbulent world, according to China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
