Commenting on media enquiries regarding the US' export control on Al chips, Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesperson He Yongqian said on Thursday that the US is abusing export controls to suppress China, violating international law and basic norms of international relations.

He emphasized that the move seriously harms the legitimate rights of Chinese firms and China's development interests, noting that China firmly opposes this and will take resolute measures to defend its legitimate interests.
