Following the South Korean election as Lee Jae-myung sworn in as South Korea's new president on Wednesday, an embarrassing moment occurred at a White House briefing.

When a reporter asked during the White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt if the White House had a reaction to the South Korean elections, Leavitt appeared confident before making an embarrassing no-reply.

"We do. In fact, let me find it here for you. Should be somewhere in here…"Leavitt said in response to the question, who flipped through her notes before replying, "Uh… we do not, but I will get you on [that]."

Reuters said Lee faces what could be the most daunting set of challenges for a South Korean leader in nearly three decades, ranging from healing a country deeply scarred by the martial law attempt to tackling unpredictable protectionist moves by the US, a major trading partner and security ally.
