When asked to comment on Japan's representations to China regarding Chinese aircraft carrier-based fighter jets approaching and intercepting a Japanese patrol aircraft performing surveillance missions, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Japan stated that the training conducted by the Chinese Navy's aircraft carrier-based fighter jets in the western Pacific Ocean is routine training organized in accordance with the annual plan. It is fully consistent with international law and international practices, and does not target any specific country or objective, the spokesperson said.

The Japanese aircraft intruded into the Chinese fleet's training zone, seriously disrupting normal training activities. China conducted professional and standardized on-site handling in accordance with laws and regulations, according to the spokesperson.

Japan's close-in reconnaissance on China's routine military operations constitutes the root cause of maritime and aerial security risks, said the spokesperson.

China urges Japan to stop dangerous actions that interfere with China's training activities and to avoid causing unexpected incidents, the spokesperson said.
