With support from the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, the Moscow Culture Festival was launched in Wangfujing Street, one of Beijing's most famous shopping and cultural destinations, on June 12. Tourists and citizens enjoyed the large-scale cultural festival with the "Moscow theme."
Moscow has rolled out such events overseas and Beijing has become the very first international city to host it. Visitors experienced the charm of Moscow through master classes, wonderful performances, and a taste of food from the Russian capital. Meanwhile, delegates from various sectors took advantage of the opportunity to discuss prospects for business cooperation.
During the festival, Russian melodies were brought to the iconic Wangfujing pedestrian street. Famous band Pelageya, the Russian folk orchestra Vselena Folk, the folk orchestra Komon, the balalaika orchestra Balalaika, the Russian folk duo Balalaikes, and the gusli player Kirill Bogomilov performed for the attendees.
On June 15, the festival staged a gorgeous finale in the form of beautiful Russian romances, opera excerpts, and classical instrumental music.
Moreover, the unique Moscow classical ballet staged different performances. Visitors walked in immersive settings with Moscow-themed pavilions on the Wangfujing Pedestrian Street. They walked around booths featuring exquisite badges, handmade shopping bags, rich dark chocolate, smoked lamb products, and authentic Russian delicacies for a taste.
Children enjoyed face painting and in the digital interaction zone, visitors checked out a panoramic view of Moscow, strolled through an exhibition hall and the Moskino Cinema Park, while wearing Virtual Reality (VR) equipment.
