In response to a media inquiry that the DPP authorities in the island of Taiwan claimed that 46 PLA military aircrafts crossed the Taiwan Straits in the past 24 hours and whether this is related to the recent transit of Japanese warship through the Straits or visit of US lawmakers to the island, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun reiterated on Friday that the Taiwan question concerns China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The spokesperson emphasized that while China respects the lawful navigation rights of all countries in the relevant waters of the Taiwan Straits, it resolutely opposes any country to take provocative actions in the name of "freedom of navigation" and threaten China's sovereignty and security.
