The Embassy of the Republic of Burundi in China hosted a reception to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of Burundi's independence on July 1. Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Xue Bing participated in the reception upon invitation and delivered a speech.

Xue offered his congratulations for the 63rd anniversary of independence of the Republic of Burundi, noting that China and Burundi are true friends and good partners, with friendship built on mutual respect and a shared future.

In recent years, under the care and guidance of the two heads of state, the China-Burundi cooperation has continuously borne fruit. China is willing to work with Burundi to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and accelerate the implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), Xue said. China is ready to work with Burundi to jointly build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era, said Xue.

Burundian Ambassador to China Telesphore Irambona highly affirmed the relations between the two countries, expressing gratitude to China for its extensive support to Burundi in various fields. He also reiterated that the Burundian government will abide by the one-China principle and continue to firmly support China in issues concerning China's core interests and major concerns.
