China advances aircraft carrier construction in line with natl security needs, devt of equipment technology, says MND spokesperson on Fujian’s latest test footage

In response to a media inquiry about the recently released documentary on China's military development — Forging Ahead — which for the first time disclosed footage of the Fujian aircraft carrier successfully completing a simulated aircraft launch test and stated that the Fujian has entered the final sprint before commissioning, Jiang Bin, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, said that "We have always advanced aircraft carrier construction in line with national security needs and the development of equipment technology."
As a strategic national asset of a major country, the Fujian will surely play its due role in safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests, said Jiang.
