Speaking in Chinese, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev quoted the Chinese proverb, "A single flower does not make spring, while one hundred flowers in full blossom bring spring to a garden. The garden is too dull if there is only a single flower, however beautiful," at the opening ceremony of the Kazakh Cultural Center in Beijing on Tuesday. He remarked that only through constant exchange and interaction among different cultural ideas, human society can achieve prosperity and progress.

Tokayev arrived in Beijing to attend the events to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War on Monday evening. On Tuesday, he attended the opening ceremony of the Kazakhstan Cultural Center and delivered a speech.

"Upholding one's own cultural traditions, while respecting those of others, is the key to mutual understanding and harmonious coexistence. The mutual respect and sincere dialogue between the peoples of Kazakhstan and China are beyond doubt," Tokayev said.

Tokayev noted that promoting cultural exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations is a critically important task. He emphasized that the new cultural center would play a special role in this mission. He then underlined that culture reflects a nation's worldview and inner spirit, forming the foundation of social values.

"The cultural center not only showcases and promotes the rich heritage and traditions of our peoples, but also serves as a platform where young people from both countries can acquire advanced knowledge and engage in creative exchange," he said.

Tokayev concluded that the opening of the Kazakhstan Cultural Center in Beijing marks an important milestone in deepening cultural exchanges and friendly relations between the two nations.

"I firmly believe this center will play an even greater role in the future, becoming a bridge that connects the hearts of our peoples," he said.
