VADM (Ret.) Ahmed Saeed, president of the Pakistan's National Institute of Maritime Affairs, spoke highly of the Global Governance Initiative on the sidelines of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum on Wednesday. He told the Global Times that the initiative aligns with Article 2 of the UN Charter, emphasizing sovereign equality, multilateralism, respect for international law, and people-centered development. He believes it promotes a peaceful environment and win-win situation.

The Global Governance Initiative is the fourth initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping. This is a great initiative in line with the Article 2 of the United Nations Charter, where it says sovereign equality is key, then is the multilateralism, the respect for international law, the centrality of humanity for its development and taking actionable measures, said Saeed.

"All these are in line with creating a peaceful environment for humanity and creating a win-win situation, not getting into competition, contestation or confrontation," Saeed noted.
