As a force for peace, the stronger China's military grows, the greater its capacity to deter war becomes. And this in turn provides stronger safeguards for global peace and development, China's Minister of National Defense Dong Jun said at the opening ceremony of the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum on Thursday. 

We stand ready to work with all peace-loving forces to defend the victory outcomes of World War II and the post-war international order, assist the armed forces of all countries in enhancing their ability to defend their legitimate rights and interests, and jointly shoulder the historical responsibility of maintaining world peace, Dong added.
