Multiple types of top Chinese defense products, including the J-35A stealth fighter jet and J-10CE fighter jet, are on display at an ongoing defense expo in Serbia. This comes after Chinese-made missile systems were featured in a Serbian military parade on Saturday.
Serbia's 12th International Fair of Armaments and Military Equipment, PARTNER 2025, kicked off on Tuesday at the Belgrade Fair. According to a news release from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) on Wednesday, a Chinese national delegation participated in the event, which included the China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC) under AVIC and other Chinese firms.
At the defense exhibition, AVIC showcased a lineup of its star equipment, including the J-35A fighter jet, the Y-20 large transport aircraft, and the Z-20 multirole helicopter. Exhibits such as the J-10CE fighter jet, the L15A advanced trainer aircraft, as well as the Wing Loong-2D and the Wing Loong-1G drones were also present, according to the AVIC release.
On the first day of the exhibition, military and government delegations from multiple countries and regions visited the aviation military trade exhibition area, engaging in in-depth discussions on topics of mutual interest, AVIC said.
NORINCO, another Chinese defense firm, said in a news release on Wednesday that it brought more than 20 types of star equipment or systems to the Serbian expo, displaying technologies in areas such as air and missile defense, fire strike, smart munitions, unmanned systems and defense cooperation.
A photo attached to the NORINCO release showed that the Chinese company exhibited models of a tank, an active protection system for vehicle, a multiple launch rocket system, and air defense vehicles among others.
According to the website of Serbian defense exhibition, the event is held under the auspices of the country's Defense Ministry, and will run through Friday.
The Chinese defense products' exhibition at the Serbian expo came after two types of Chinese air defense missiles,
the HQ-22 and HQ-17, made their appearances at a Serbian military parade on Saturday.
Song Zhongping, a Chinese military affairs expert, told the Global Times that China and Serbia enjoy a traditional friendship, with bilateral relations having stood the test of time. Defense cooperation reflects the growing military and political mutual trust between the two countries, he said.
