Asked to comment on reports that France moves to suspend Shein from operating its online business in the country, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on Friday referred the specific issue to the relevant Chinese authorities.
"As a principle, the Chinese government has consistently required enterprises to operate in compliance with laws and regulations and to fulfill their social responsibilities. Of course, we also hope that the relevant parties will adhere to the principles of a market economy and provide a fair, just, and transparent business environment for enterprises from all countries," Mao said.
