Asked to comment on media reports that "Taiwan independence" separatist Hsiao Bi-khim recently spoke at a meeting held by the “Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC)” at the European Parliament building, and that the DPP authorities touted this as a "historic step in Taiwan's diplomacy and a new stage” in relations, Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said on Wednesday that the so-called IPAC is nothing more than a small group of extreme anti-China elements, and we firmly oppose its renewed provocations on Taiwan-related issues.

“The DPP authorities' collusion with such an organization to stage a farce will only make them a laughingstock and bring shame upon themselves,” Chen said.
