Responding to media inquiries on Taiwan regional leader Lai Ching-te’s and the island’s so-called "foreign affairs" department’s false claims regarding Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s erroneous remarks concerning the Taiwan question, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said on Wednesday that the root cause of tensions in the Taiwan Straits lies in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities’ stubborn adherence to the “Taiwan independence” secessionist position and their collusion with external forces to carry out provocative moves for independence.

Regarding Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s erroneous remarks concerning the Taiwan question, Lai falsely claimed that China is conducting “hybrid attacks” against Japan, urged China not to become a “troublemaker for regional peace and stability,” and called on China to “return to a rules-based international order.” The head of Taiwan island's so-called "foreign affairs" department also claimed that they will use “Integrated Diplomacy” and a “three-chain strategy” to open a new era in its relations with Japan.

Taiwan Affairs Office spokesperson Zhu Fenglian said on Wednesday’s press conference that the root cause of tensions in the Taiwan Straits lies in the DPP authorities’ stubborn adherence to the “Taiwan independence” secessionist position and their collusion with external forces to carry out provocative moves for independence.
As everyone has seen, many foreign media outlets, experts, and scholars have recently voiced their criticism of the Lai Ching-te authorities’ reckless and aggressive actions and repeated provocations for “independence,” calling them a “peace saboteur” and “troublemaker” in the Taiwan Straits.

We sternly warn the DPP authorities that relying on external forces to pursue “independence” is a delusional fantasy. Any act of colluding with external powers to seek “independence” and provoke confrontation will inevitably be met with a firm counter strike. Anyone who forgets their roots and betrays the nation will be nailed to the pillar of historical shame, Zhu said.
