China has repeatedly stated its position on the issue of US chip exports to China, and hopes that the US will take concrete actions to maintain the stability and smooth flow of the global supply chain, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Friday, when asked by a reporter whether China is prepared to purchase US chipmaker AMD’s MI308 chips, after the firm said on Thursday that it was prepared to pay a 15 percent tax to the US government if it ships MI308 chips to China. Lin referred the specific question to competent Chinese authorities.
