In November, China’s monthly automobile production exceeded 3.5 million units for the first time, setting a new historical record, according to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on Thursday. And in the first 11 months, the production and sales of automobiles surpassed 31 million units, with year-on-year growth all exceeding 10 percent.

In the first 11 months, the exports of China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) reached 2.315 million units, doubling from the same period last year. Meanwhile, the production and sales of NEVs both approached 15 million units in January-November period, with year-on-year growth both exceeding 30 percent, the data showed.

Looking ahead to the full year, the domestic demand market for automobiles has effectively improved under the combined effects of policy measures, with new growth drivers accelerating their release. Meanwhile, the foreign trade of automobile has demonstrated strong resilience, and “annual automobile production and sales are expected to set a new historical record once again,” CAAM said.

The association noted that in November, China’s automobile production and sales continued their strong performance, with NEVs sector showing robust performance and automobile exports recording relatively rapid growth. Enterprises have seized the policy window period, maintaining a relatively rapid pace of production and supply. And as a result, both production and sales achieved month-on-month and year-on-year growth even against a high base.
