In response to a question about China-Netherlands negotiation progress about Nexperia, Chinese Commerce Ministry (MOFCOM) spokesperson He Yadong said on Thursday that China has been facilitating talks between Wingtech and Nexperia Dutch unit to resolve their internal disputes.
As Wingtech has sent letters to the Dutch-appointed custodians of Nexperia's shares, inviting them to visit China for consultations on restoring lawful control of the subsidiary and supply chain stability, MOFCOM had conveyed the request to the Dutch Embassy in China and urged the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs to implement the consensus reached with China, with the aim of facilitating the dispatch of personnel from Nexperia's Dutch unit to China.
The spokesperson stressed that the Nexperia issues was triggered by improper administrative intervention by the Dutch government, and Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs has a responsibility to take constructive and substantive measures, revoke administrative order to create favorable conditions for internal consultations within the company.
The spokesperson further noted that China has taken concrete steps to grant exemptions for compliant exports intended for civilian use, and hopes Dutch side will take practical actions to help resolve the Nexperia issue.
