The chairman of Wingtech Technology Co said at the company's fifth extraordinary shareholders' meeting for 2025 on Friday afternoon that the firm is resolute in safeguarding its rights and must regain equity and control of Nexperia, according to Shanghai Securities News.

"In January 2026, the company will use the opportunity of a second hearing in the Netherlands to restate its position and actively defend its rights," Yang Mu, chairman of Wingtech Technology Co told the reporters, according to Shanghai Securities News.

Yang also told reporters that in response to Nexperia Netherlands cutting off semiconductor wafer supplies to Nexperia China, the company is further diversifying its externally sourced wafer suppliers and is currently conducting testing and validation with relevant partners, Shanghai Securities News reported.

Public information shows that the turmoil surrounding Nexperia is affecting global industrial supply chains, with some international automakers experiencing chip shortages.

China's Ministry of Commerce on Monday said the Dutch government should immediately revoke its administrative order concerning semiconductor manufacturer Nexperia, which is an overseas subsidiary of Chinese firm Wingtech.

A ministry spokesperson noted that the Nexperia issue was triggered by the Dutch government's inappropriate administrative intervention in corporate operations, and called for the administrative order to be revoked immediately.

The spokesperson urged the Dutch government to create favorable conditions for negotiations between the companies involved, and to help restore the security and stability of global semiconductor industrial and supply chains.

The Chinese government has already taken concrete measures to grant exemptions for compliant exports intended for civilian use, creating essential conditions for the stability and unimpeded flow of the semiconductor supply chain, the ministry said.
