China's top diplomat on Tuesday again slammed Japanese prime minister's erroneous remarks related to Taiwan, saying the incumbent Japanese leader "openly challenged China's territorial sovereignty, the historical conclusions of World War II, and the post-war international order."
In this special year, which marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, when people around the world are drawing lessons from history and pursuing peace and development together, Japan - the country that launched the war of aggression against China - has not only failed to deeply reflect on the crimes it committed, but its incumbent leader has even openly challenged China's territorial sovereignty, the historical conclusions of World War II, and the post-war international order, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, stated on Tuesday at the 2025 international situation and China's diplomacy seminar.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that all peace-loving countries and people who do not wish to see the tragedy repeated will never accept this. We must be highly vigilant against the resurgence of Japanese militarism, must resolutely defend the victory achieved through bloodshed in World War II, and must effectively safeguard the hard-won peace and stability, the Chinese foreign minister said.
