Zhu Anqing, spokesperson of the East Sea Bureau, the China Coast Guard (CCG) said that on Tuesday, the Fujian Coast Guard continued to organize law enforcement patrol in the waters off the Taiwan island. The patrol focused on drills such as verification and identification, warning and expulsion, as well as visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS), which tested the regional control capabilities.
The CCG, in conjunction with the Global Times, released the "'Independence'-busting" poster, which shows the CCG's capabilities in in-depth law enforcement and the integrated control.
In the poster, the CCG deploys both maritime and air forces to establish a three-dimensional blockade on key shipping routes around Taiwan island. The poster incorporates fishing net element, depicting a blockade net set up in the eastern waters of Taiwan island, symbolizing that "Taiwan independence" separatist forces cannot escape eastward through maritime channels. Additionally, the poster prominently features the mission's theme, "'Independence'-busting," in large font, and uses harpoon element to precisely strike a high-speed fleeing speedboat at sea.
The poster shows the VBSS drills during the law enforcement and patrol operation, reflecting the CCG's capability to exercise regional control.
The Global Times learned that VBSS is a key component of the law enforcement and patrol operation this time. Targeting the northern part of Taiwan island and the eastern potential escape routes for "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, CCG ships have advanced into distant waters to set up surveillance and control. They conduct boardings and inspections of suspicious vessels and carry out maritime arrests of suspicious individuals attempting to flee. This showcases the CCG's ability in law enforcement and patrol operations to prevent external assistance from getting in and "Taiwan independence" separatist forces elements escaping.
