Asked by foreign media for comment after TikTok announced on Friday that it has established TikTok US Data Security (USDS) Joint Venture LLC, with the joint venture responsible for data protection, algorithm security, content moderation, and software safeguards for TikTok in the US, and the US President welcomed the move on social media and thanked the Chinese side for approving the agreement, Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a regular press conference on Friday that the question should be directed to the competent Chinese authorities. China's position on TikTok has been consistent and clear, he said.
