China is willing to work with the US side to jointly uphold and implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, make good use of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism, manage differences, advance cooperation, and promote the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China-US economic and trade relations, Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesperson He Yongqian said on Thursday.

He made the remarks in response to a question that US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer recently floated the idea of another potential round of trade negotiations with China at Davos ahead of meeting between the two countries' leaders.

Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state of China and the US, both sides upheld the spirit of equality, respect, and reciprocity, and successively conducted five rounds of economic and trade consultations in 2025, which achieved a series of positive outcomes. This fully demonstrates that through equal dialogue and consultations, the two sides are able to find solutions to economic and trade differences, the spokesperson said.

Following the meeting of the two heads of state in Busan, both sides have maintained continuous communication at all levels through the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism, and jointly promote the implementation of the important consensus reached at the leaders' meeting and the outcomes of the economic and trade consultations in Kuala Lumpur, He said.
