Asked to comment on that Panama's Supreme Court has recently ruled unconstitutional the concession contract under which CKHutchison Holdings operates two ports along the Panama Canal, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Friday, I believe you have noted that the company concerned issued a statement at the earliest opportunity to state that the ruling runs contrary to Panamanian laws under which the relevant concession was approved, and that the company will reserve all its rights, including the initiation of legal proceedings.

Guo stressed at a press conference that China will take all necessary measures to firmly safeguard the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
