PLA Southern Theater Command conducts routine patrol, condemns Philippine move to rope in outside countries for ‘bilateral air patrols’

Senior Captain Zhai Shichen, spokesperson for the PLA Southern Theater Command stated, from February 2 to 6, the naval and air forces of the PLA Southern Theater Command conducted a routine patrol in the South China Sea. In an attempt to stir up troubles in the South China Sea, the Philippine side roped in countries outside the region and conducted so-called “bilateral air patrol”, undermining peace and stability in the region. Forces of the Southern Theater Command will remain on high alert and resolutely safeguard China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
