There is only one China in the world and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, said Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, at a press conference on Wednesday.
She made the statement in response to a media inquiry about remarks made by Lithuania Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene in a recent interview with Baltic News Service, in which the prime minister said Lithuania “jumped in front of the train and lost” by opening a so-called “Taiwanese representative office” in Vilnius.
Zhu said that the one-China principle is a widely recognized consensus of the international community and a basic norm governing international relations, reflecting the will of the people. We urged the relevant side to correct its mistake as soon as possible and stand on the right side of history.
