Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning
Asked to comment on the Ministry of Commerce's decision on Tuesday to place 20 Japanese entities on the export control list and another 20 on the watch list, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Tuesday that for specific questions, the inquirer should refer to the competent Chinese authorities.
Mao stressed that in order to safeguard national security and interests and fulfill international obligations such as non-proliferation, China has taken measures in accordance with laws and regulations. The purpose is to curb Japan's attempts at remilitarization and nuclearization, and the steps are fully justified, reasonable and lawful, Mao added.
