Zhu Anqing, spokesperson of China Coast Guard (CCG) Donghai Branch, stated on Monday that Fujian Coast Guard conducted routine law-enforcement patrols in the waters near Kinmen, according to a statement released by CCG on its official WeChat account.

Since the beginning of March, vessel task forces of Fujian Coast Guard have enhanced law-enforcement patrols near Kinmen to strengthen control over the waters, the statement said.

It is an effective step to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese fishermen, including those from the Taiwan region, and their safety and property, and to ensure orderly navigation and operation in the waters around Xiamen and Kinmen, according to the statement.
