The Commissioner's Office of China's Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) lodged solemn representations with Julie Eadeh, Consul General of the US in Hong Kongon Friday over US' interference in Hong Kong affairs, expressing strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition, the office announced on Saturday.

The démarche came in response to the so-called "security alert" issued by the US Consulate General in Hong Kong regarding theHKSAR government's amendments to the Implementation Rules for Article 43 of the National Security Law. Commissioner Cui Jianchun summoned Eadeh to lodge solemn representations, expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition, urging the US side to cease interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs in any form.
