Shanghai tax authorities announced on Tuesday they had received a tip-off filed under a real name on Monday alleging tax issues involving Chinese actress Ju Jingyi, however, the department decided not to proceed as it had received similar leads multiple times since September 2025 but found no reported tax-related violations after careful verification.

In a statement issued on its official website, the inspection bureau of the Shanghai tax authority under the State Taxation Administration said the latest submission was a repeat of a previously concluded case and did not provide any new valid evidence, and was therefore not accepted, citing relevant regulations.

The statement followed the online circulation of documents alleging tax violations involving Ju, a well-known television star known for her roles in historical fantasy dramas, with screenshots of alleged tip-off reports to tax authorities drawing attention and sending related topics to the top of Sina Weibo’s trending list.

Ju’s team has said in a statement on Tuesday that she has strictly complied with tax laws and actively cooperated with relevant inspections, completing all required review procedures.

Shanghai tax authorities added in the latest statement that tax authorities will continue to strengthen supervision, improve law-based enforcement, promote compliance, and safeguard legitimate rights, as part of efforts to foster a fair and credible tax environment.
