After a safety barrier collapsed during the final encore at a Super Junior concert in Seoul, the South Korean boy band and organizers issued a formal apology on Monday and pledged to cover all medical expenses for the injured fans and to strengthen safety management at future events, as three fans were left injured and concerns over concert security surged online.

In the early hours of Monday, SM Entertainment, the agency of Super Junior, released an official apology on China's Sina Weibo following an accident during the final encore song at Super Junior's concert at Seoul's KSPO Dome. During this moment, a metal barrier on the side of the audience area gave way, causing several concertgoers to fall from a height of approximately two to three meters. The company confirmed that three audience members sustained injuries in the incident.

The statement said that the injured fans were immediately sent to the hospital for necessary tests and treatment. Medical staff diagnosed them with sprains and bruises, requiring about two weeks of rest and care. The statement assured that full support for treatment and recovery would be provided until the injured fans fully recovered.

"As the concert organizer, we feel deeply responsible for this accident. We will further strengthen safety inspections of facilities and improve audience safety management to prevent similar incidents from happening again," the statement said.

The incident drew widespread attention on Chinese social media. One Chinese netizen shared on Xiaohongshu, or RedNote that they were among the fans who fell, and were quickly transported to the hospital after the incident. Initial examination revealed no bone or ligament injuries, mostly abrasions. The netizen also mentioned that Super Junior members visited the injured fans in the hospital to offer their condolences. The authenticity of this post could not be independently verified.

Following the accident, some Chinese Sina Weibo users urged concert organizers and venues to take facility safety more seriously and take stronger measures to prevent similar incidents.

Super Junior, formed in 2005 by SM Entertainment, is one of South Korea's most popular boy bands and has built a massive following in China over the years. The band's official Sina Weibo account has had more than two million followers.
