According to reports, Brazil's Labor Ministry previously announced that it had placed several companies and individual employers operating in Brazil, including Chinese automaker BYD, on a list of firms accused of employing workers in "slavery-like conditions." Recently, a Brazilian labor court ruled that the procedure used to make that determination against BYD was unlawful, and Brazil's Labor Ministry has announced the removal of BYD from the relevant list.

Asked to comment on this, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Monday that the Chinese government attaches great importance to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers and has consistently required Chinese-funded enterprises to operate in accordance with laws and regulations.

China is willing to continue working with the Brazilian side to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields based on the principles of equality, mutual benefit, and win-win cooperation, the spokesperson said.
