Personnel changes at Shanghai GM

Shanghai General Motors officially announced Friday Wang Yongqing becomes deputy general manager and an executive committee member who was previously general manager of Shanghai GM Dong Yue Motors.

Wang replaces Xun Yizhong, who was transferred to Shanghai Automotive Group Co. Ltd on Aug. 1.

Xun helped with the joint venture project of Shanghai GM in 1995. After it was established in 1997, Xun became deputy director of Shanghai GM PT (power train) plant. He was later promoted to deputy general manager of Shanghai GM, and was also a member of the executive committee that played a key role in the building of the core business of Shanghai GM.

Meanwhile, in 1995, Wang also worked in the department responsible for establishing cooperation projects for Shanghai GM. From 1997 to 2002, he acted as a senior manager in the Shanghai GM Department of planning and development, as well as Shanghai GM PT Department.

He was deputy director of the project in Shanghai GM Jinqiao southern plant from 2003 to 2005, as well as director of the Jinqiao Southern Plant. In 2006, he was appointed general manager of Shanghai GM Dong Yue Motors, and of Shanghai GM Dong Yue PT Co. Wang is not only a senior specialist in finished vehicles and PT production, but also has extensive experience in project management.
