Report: 2009 Chang Ford Focus has leaking gearbox

According to the 2008 China Automobile & After-sale Service Quality Report (CAAS), there is a problem with the Chang Ford Focus gearbox.

"Since the second half of 2008, some Ford Focus owners have complained that the gearboxes of their cars leaked after six months of driving or when they drove less than 5,000 km. Focus owners said the problem still continued to occur after the Ford maintenance station replaced the leaking gearboxes."

A staff member from the Changan Ford Focus helpline said the Changan Ford took the responsibility for the leaking gearbox, and Focus owners can drive their vehicles to the 4S shop to get a new gearbox box free of charge.

The 2009 Focus uses the B5A gearbox produced by Getrag (Jiangxi) Transmission Co. Ltd.
