Oil prices plummeted more than 4 percent to below $70 Monday as China's major equities index tumbled.
Light, sweet crude for October delivery fell 3.26 dollars, or 4. 5 percent, to 69.48 dollars a barrel at 11:50 am EDT on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
