GTMC's production capacity reaches its limit

Demand for cars from GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. (GTMC) are so great that the company needs to build a new plant in China as soon as possible, people working at GTMC told the Beijing Youth Daily.

GTMC's sales this year increased 15 percent more than the company expected, and its turnover is 25 percent higher than it expected. GTMC's Yaris models sold more than 3,000 units a month, up 30 percent from a year earlier. The automaker has adjusted its designed output from 20,000 units to 35,000 units, but it's still not enough to meet the domestic market.

To ensure buyers can get their cars before the Spring Festival, GTMC will shorten staff vacation time.
