Improved agility and speed was fully evident in the new Cayenne, through its extensively redesigned lightweight chassis and best-in-class performance from the new power units. A superior rate of acceleration and top speed could also be seen across the board, along with even greater fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emission rates.

The Cayenne S as its 4.8-litre V8 power-unit was displayed to show a significant decrease in fuel consumption, reduction of up to 23 per cent to 10.5 L/100km and CO2 emissions, down to just 245 g/km. Nevertheless the engine output has also increased to 400 bhp compared with the former 385 bhp, with a higher top speed of 258 km/h and an acceleration rate of 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.

Pioneering lightweight design on key components, a wheel base extended by 40 millimetres, plus active and extra-light all-wheel drive, has reduced weight on the Cayenne S by up to 180 kilos without compromising quality or safety. This not only significantly reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, but also improves speed, spaciousness and handling over previous versions of the model.
