Toyota to recall 510 Prius models in S. Korea: S. Korean gov't

Toyota Motor Corp. plans to recall its Prius hybrid vehicles in South Korea for possible defects in brake systems, Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs in Seoul said Tuesday.

A total of 510 units, manufactured between Feb. 26, 2009 to Jan. 27 of this year and sold here or brought into the country individually, will be subject to the latest recalls, following the government's earlier decision to issue separate recalls for 444 Toyota vehicles.

The recalls for Prius models will start on Feb. 16 after Lunar New Year holidays, the ministry said.
