Liu Jinliang, vice president and sales manager of Geely Holding Group, talked about the company's marketing planning and promotion in 2011 with the Wccdaily, saying that Geely will expand its sales network, especially in some counties, enhance its service quality and try its best to realize the target of selling 490,000 vehicles this year.
Geely has carried out a strategic transformation since 2007. By the end of last year, three major brand concepts had been launched, including Gleagle, Emgrand and Englon.
Liu said Geely's vehicles are developed according to market demand, therefore the traditional standard of dividing models into high-end or low-end cars is not suitable for its models.
Geely's sales target seems very conservative as it increases only 22 percent this year.
However, Liu said that Geely has adjusted its strategic target from rapid development to stable development and will attach more attention to the global market, technology and quality.
Li Shufu, chairman of Geely said that the company's business objective is to make the brand globally respected as well as ameliorate quality. Geely will adopt a "1+1+1" cooperation mode, meaning to combine the advantages of local manufacturers' low cost, international suppliers' cutting-edge technology and Geely's market to make the company more competitive.
In recent years, luxury vehicles and cars made by joint ventures (JV) begin to exploit some local markets in small cities like BMW in Leshan, Sichuan Province and Audi in Mianyang, impacting domestic automakers.
Geely is the first automaker who sells cars on the Internet and it will continue to explore new sales modes in 2011.
