The Ministry of Science and Technology Saturday awarded Liangjiang New Area of Chongqing as "New energy vehicle and functional material production base".
Liangjiang New Area plans to build the new hi-tech auto production base into a world-class R&D headquarter for new energy vehicle and the best car-test center for developing technology platform, service system, and car production. By 2020, the production capacity of the plants is expected to surge to 1.5 million units.
The functional material production base focuses on studying industrial material of industries such as electric & information, weapons, shipping, aerospace, metallurgy, and so on.
