The car was produced in GM's Delta II platform. The dimensions of the car are 4,598 x 1,797 x 1,477 mm. Its wheelbase is 2,685 mm, making it more competitive with cars in the same level.
The Cruze features 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter Ecotec dynamic variable valve timing (DVVT) engines, which come from Opel’s ECOTEC engine series, and both have the new variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) technology. The two engines feature the S6 automated manual transmission which was researched and developed by the European division of General Motors.
