Changan Suzuki to raise annual capacity to 180,000 vehicles

Chongqing Changan Suzuki Automobile Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Changan Auto and Suzuki Motor, expects to raise its annual capacity to 180,000 units in 2010. The added sales volume will mostly be fulfilled by the new Alto.

Statistics show that Changan Suzuki sales hit a new record of more than 53,000 units in the first quarter of 2010, an increase of 60 percent from a year earlier, said Tang Qing, Marketing and Promotion Director for Changan Suzuki Co. at the Beijing Auto Show.

Tang said the company will launch new versions of Suzuki SX4 hatchback, Swift and Alto. In addition, it will add 200 of 4S stores and various other service networks, to have a total of 1,000 outlets.
