Brilliance Auto releases 12th Five-Year Plan

Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd. (Brilliance Auto) released its 12th five-year development plan on Friday, saying that the company plans to manufacture and sell 1.5 million vehicles and 1.5 million engines in the next five years (2011-2015), realizing a sales revenue of 200 billion yuan ($30 billion).

Brilliance's new factory, which will be used to manufacture A-class vehicles, has been officially established in Shenyang last month and it is estimated that its (factory) capacity will reach 150,000 units.

The company plans to launch two new models this year, including a multi-purpose vehicle, codenamed A3 and a high-end four-door sedan, codenamed A4.

According to the statistics released by Brilliance recently, the company sold 501,000 vehicles in 2010, up 44 percent year-on-year, and completed its target of 500,000 units.

During Brilliance's 11th Five-Year Plan, the company's sales volume hit 16.5 million and its sales revenue reached 230 billion yuan ($35 billion).

Brilliance is the only automaker in China that owns sedans, light passenger vans and truck brands, including Brilliance, Brilliance Jinbei and Brilliance BMW.
