Chinese internet users praise vlogger Li Ziqi, the cast of Better Days reunite at Macao film festival, K-pop star Yoona stuns onlookers with her outfit during the red carpet at the same festival

Li Ziqi, a Chinese vlogger with 7.45 million YouTube followers, was praised for her self-reliance by Chinese netizens after an old interview of hers began circulating on social media recently. In the TV interview, she revealed she used to work as a DJ in a bar to earn money to take care of her grandmother. 

Orphaned at a very young age, Li was raised by her grandmother in Mianyang, Southwest China's Sichuan Province. At the age of 14, she left home to be a migrant laborer. In 2016, she returned to live with her grandmother and began sharing her rural lifestyle such as farming and cooking with fresh vegetables in videos uploaded on social media, attracting more than 20.77 million followers on Sina Weibo and 7.45 million YouTube followers. 

"She is really inspiring. From DJ to a Chinese web celebrity who appeals to fans around the world, Li tries her best to live out her own style," posted one Sina Weibo user.

#The cast of Better Days reunited#

The cast of Better Days, a Chinese coming-of-age film starring Jackson Yee and Zhou Dongyu, reunited on Tuesday at the 2019 International Film Festival and Awards of Macao.

Released on October 25 in China and on November 8 in the US and Canada, the movie tells the story of a bullied high school girl (Zhou) and a teenage street thug (Yee), and how both of their lives are changed by each other. The film was a huge hit among young audiences, earning more than 1.5 billion yuan ($213 million) at the Chinese mainland box office.

Yee, Zhou and the film's director Derek Tsang reunited at the Macao film festival, and posed for group photos on the red carpet, arousing netizens' memories about the film on social media.

"Yee is so cool in the film! I fell in love with Xiaobei (Yee's character)," one netizen commented.

K-pop star Yoona, a member of South Korean girl band Girls' Generation, wore a scarlet gown as she walked the red carpet at the closing ceremony of the 2019 International Film Festival and Awards of Macao, stunning Chinese netizens on social media. 

"Yoona is so beautiful! I have been in love with her for 10 years and her beauty has never changed," a Sina Weibo user wrote.

Yoona won The Asian Stars Up Next Award at the festival.
