Sex, drugs, money and over ambition were revealed in a criminal case involving two women who wanted the same job and an accomplice who is said to be a male prostitute.

The complicated case has intrigued Chinese netizens and resulted in one of the women and the man being sentenced to eight months in jail by the People's Court of Shunyi district in Beijing.

It begins with a woman surnamed Wang, living in Hunan Province, who lost out on her dream job to another woman, named Qin.  Wang then tried a number of dirty tricks to get the second woman to give up the position, and even hired a male prostitute named Xiao to frame Qin, according to a report posted on Sina Weibo by Beijing News that quoted court proceedings.

The court heard that a police investigation revealed that Wang's parents offered Qin 1 million yuan ($143,000) if she quit her post, but she refused.  The report didn't mention which government job the women were competing for.

Wang then became much more devious and hired Xiao for 1,000 yuan a day. He somehow managed to infiltrate Qin's workplace and attempted to seduce her, even managing to land a dinner date with Qin.

At this point in the story, police received an anonymous call, apparently orchestrated by Wang, saying Qin was involved with illegal drug, in the hope that she would be fired.

Police even found drugs in her desk and in her blood, but the court believed her story that she had been framed by Wang and Xiao.

Wang is appealing her conviction, the Beijing News reported.

"Scriptwriters now have material for a brilliant crime story!" wrote a netizen.
