Photos of Chinese actor Xiao Zhan sporting a curly hairstyle at news platform Jinri Toutiao's annual festival on Wednesday have gone viral on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo.

Along with the new hairstyle, the star wore a black striped suit, white shirt and a necklace decorated with round rings on the red carpet.

Many Chinese fans gave Xiao's hairstyle full marks.

"Curly hair is perfect for him! Sure enough, if the person is handsome, he looks good in different kinds of fashion styles," one Chinese netizen posted on Sina Weibo.

"I am completely attracted to his face, but I like how he looks in costume on The Untamed more," another netizen wrote.

The Untamed is a fantasy period drama that became a huge hit over the summer.

South Korean singer and member of girl group Girls' Generation Kim Tae-yeon, better known as Taeyeon, performed her new song "Four Seasons" at the 9th Gaon Chart Music Awards on Wednesday. She won Artist of the Year at the event for the song.

Many Chinese netizens took to Chinese social media to send their congratulations to their idol.

"You are my queen! Taeyeon does not only have a sweet voice, but also a charming outlook," one Chinese netizen commented on Sina Weibo.

"My idol's first event of the new year is so beautiful. I am looking forward to another new song this year," another fan wrote.

Chinese singer Lay Zhang won the All-rounded Celebrity  of the Year Award at news platform Jinri Toutiao's annual festival on Wednesday. 

Zhang wore a red jacket and a black beret at the event, and performed his song "NAMANANA" to shouts of joy and cheers from the audience. 

"Lay is my favorite Chinese singer. He is so strong in singing and dancing at the same time," one netizen wrote on Sina Weibo.

"His black beret look is so handsome. He looks like a king on the stage," another fan posted.
