China is sending emergency aid to Pakistan to fight the locust attack, including 50,000 liters of pesticide and 14 spray machines. The first batch of aid arrived at Pakistan on Monday morning, China's Foreign Ministry said.

Also on Monday, China sent a new batch of test kits for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) to Pakistan, Geng Shuang, spokesperson of China's Foreign Ministry, said at Monday's media briefing.

A China Eastern plane carrying 14 spray machines, 250 barrels of pesticides and 14,000 test kits left Shanghai's Pudong International Airport early Monday and arrived at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi at 10 am Beijing Time.

The locust prevent and control team organized by China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has inspected several regions in Pakistan severely plagued by the locust from February 23 to March 5.

Chinese experts of the team proposed a comprehensive management plan to Pakistan and was highly praised by the country, Geng said.

China believes that the Pakistani government and people will be able to defeat the locust plague. China is willing to continue to provide assistance, if needed, to strengthen cooperation in personnel training, experience sharing and technical support, help Pakistan set up a system for the prevention and control of diseases and pests, and improve the prevention and control ability in biological disasters, Geng said.
