The Chinese government is planning to investigate quality standards in the country's solar panel industry, which is the biggest in the world, showing an effort to control the rapidly expanding industry.
The productivity of the industry in China is now twice as high as a year ago, accounting for 62 percent of the global total, according to a report by iSuppli.
Analysts have said the investigation will target only low-end manufacturers, as the rest of the industry has already reached global standards.
